Review: Zuma Mykonos – Good Food Middle East


Zuma Mykonos is ideally located by the iconic infinity pool of Cavoo Tagoo, offering stunning views of the Aegean Sea and Mykonos’ famous sunsets. The restaurant’s design combines Japanese minimalism with Mykonian influences, featuring light-filled spaces with warm wood furnishings and neutral-toned seating.

Zuma Mykonos blends modern Japanese design with Aegean chic, creating a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere for enjoying innovative Japanese cuisine amidst the captivating beauty of Mykonos.

Culinary highlights

Our culinary journey at Zuma began with the vibrant Piri Kara Edamame, featuring stir-fried soybeans seasoned with chilli, garlic, and ginger, perfectly balancing heat and aromatic spices. Next, the Ika no Kari Kari Age impressed with its expertly fried crispy squid, offering a light, airy texture and a satisfying crunch.

Our appetiser journey continued with the Ebi no Tempura to Kankitsu Mayonnaise, featuring perfectly fried rock shrimp tempura paired with a refreshing citrus mayonnaise infused with shiso. For the salad course, the Watercress no Salada Wasabi Fuumi offered a refreshing mix of crisp watercress, creamy avocado, and crunchy cucumber dressed in a zesty wasabi dressing, providing a palate-cleansing contrast to the preceding appetisers.

For the mains, the Ebi no Sumibiyaki Yuzu Kosho Fuumi featured jumbo tiger prawns grilled to perfection, with yuzu kosho seasoning adding a citrusy kick that enhanced the prawns’ natural sweetness, leaving a memorable flavour profile that lingered on the palate.

Following this, the Honetsuki Ko-Hitsuji no Sumibiyaki showcased Zuma’s grilling expertise with spiced lamb chops, accompanied by Korean chilli and cucumber, providing a spicy and cooling contrast to the tender, flavourful lamb.

To conclude our evening, the Special Chocolate with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream was a decadent indulgence. The oozing chocolate fondant, adorned with the iconic Zuma logo in gold chocolate, offered a luxurious finish to our meal. The warm, gooey centre of the fondant paired perfectly with the cool vanilla bean ice cream.
