BATHINDA: Reelected in UK elections Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi and Preet Kaur Gill had raised their voices in support of farmer struggle at the borders of Delhi in 2020-21 and also for justice for slain rapper Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu Moosewala.
Dhesi had also raised concern over the killing of protesting farmer Shubkaran Singh, killed at Khanauri border on February 21, in the parliament on the next day of the killing on February 22.Both Dhesi and Gill got reelected on Friday in the general elections.
Farmers and the Moosewala family welcomed it. The 45-year-old Tan Dheshi was elected for the term as Labour Party candidate from Slough.
As Labour Party candidate, 51-year-old Preet Kaur Gill has been elected for a third term from Birmingham Edgbaston.
Both had to face the ire of the central government for raising their voice for protesting farmers and they were called Khalistani sympathisers.
Farmer forum Kisan Mazdoor Morcha convened Sarvan Singh Pandher said that both these UK MPs had raised voices for struggle and also the killing of Shubkaran Singh. Farmers want them to keep on raising voices in support of farmers who are fighting for their rights.
Sidhu Moosewala’s father Balkaur Singh said that he had met both of them during his UK visit and they had supported the demand for justice. We seek their continued support for justice and welcome re-election.
