A tragic incident unfolded in Plainsboro, New Jersey, where a family of four was discovered dead in their home, prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities to determine the cause of their deaths.
The victims, identified as Taj Pratap Singh, 43, his wife Sonal Parihar, 42, their 10-year-old son, and six-year-old daughter, were found inside their Titus Lane residence around 4:30pm. The police, based in Plainsboro, New Jersey, are diligently working to ascertain the circumstances, including the possibility of a murder-suicide.
According to a NJ.Com, “This tragedy remains under investigation and autopsies are being performed today,” the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. “The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that there is no threat to the public.”
News footage displayed the family’s home cordoned off with crime scene tape, casting a somber atmosphere over the suburban Middlesex County neighborhood. The discovery was made after a concerned relative requested a welfare check on the family, according to information shared by authorities with CBS News.
Heartbroken relatives gathered outside the residence, struggling to comprehend the sudden loss of their family members. Those close to the victims expressed shock, as they had perceived Singh and Parihar as a content and happy couple. Both parents held professional roles in the IT field, with Singh working as a Lead APIX Engineer at Ness Digital Engineering, as per his LinkedIn profile. Additionally, Singh actively participated in his local community, notably as a member of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) at his children’s school.
Superintendent David Aderhold from the West-Windsor Plainsboro district expressed condolences, saying, “The district was informed by local law enforcement of a horrific tragedy involving one of our Plainsboro families with a Wicoff student and a Millstone River School student.”
The Plainsboro Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office have collaborated on the investigation. Public records revealed that the couple had purchased their Titus Lane home in August 2018 for $635,000.
