23-year-old Indian-origin woman dies in Canada car crash; was recently engaged in Patiala

PATIALA: Rashamdeep Kaur, a 23-year-old girl from Samana, tragically lost her life in a car accident in Canada.
The accident reportedly occurred in the Mountain city of Canada when Rashamdeep was travelling in a taxi along with her friend Harman and Harman’s brother Navjot, who both hailed from a village in Ludhiana district. The three youngsters were returning after submitting their permanent residency documents when the taxi’s tire allegedly burst, causing the vehicle to lose control and flip over leaving all three dead while the driver survived the horrific crash.
She had moved to Canada four years ago to pursue her studies and was currently residing there on a work permit.Rashamdeep had recently gotten engaged in Patiala just four months ago and had returned to Canada after the ceremony.
Rashamdeep’s parents are both government school teachers. Her mother teaches at a government girls school in Samana, while her father, Bhupinder Singh, is a teacher at a government school in Mehmoodpur, Haryana. Besides her parents, Rashamdeep is survived by her 20-year-old younger brother, who has been living with the family in Samana.
Chamkaur Singh, Rashamdeep’s uncle, shared details about the circumstances surrounding the accident. He mentioned that Rashamdeep, Harman, and Navjot had gone to submit their permanent residency documents just a day before the tragic incident occurred.
The news of Rashamdeep’s untimely demise has left her family and loved ones in a state of shock and grief. The loss of a young life, full of potential and promise, is a devastating blow to the family and the community. The Indian diaspora in Canada has also been deeply affected by this tragic event.
As the family mourns the loss of Rashamdeep, the local authorities in Canada are investigating the cause of the accident. The sudden and unexpected nature of the incident has raised concerns about road safety and the need for proper maintenance of vehicles.
“The family members have just reached Canada and the Indian embassy in Canada has been informed about the accident. The family needs the necessary assistance during this difficult time. Arrangements are being made to repatriate Rashamdeep’s mortal remains to her hometown in Samana, where her final rites will be performed however the government should intervene and help for repatriation of mortal remains of all three youngsters”, said Rashamdeep’s uncle Chamkaur Singh.
He added, “The tragic accident serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment spent with loved ones. Rashamdeep’s memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire others to pursue their dreams and live life to the fullest”.
